Students are encouraged with warmth, but also challenged with clear, direct guidance.

Auditions

Auditions & next steps

Prospective violin and viola students should prepare audition repertoire that shows both technical ability and musical expression. Requirements may include scales, an etude, and two contrasting works. Students should always confirm the official requirements with the Marshall University School of Music.

Official requirements and application procedures are managed by Marshall University. This page is a personal studio introduction and contact point.

International students are welcome

If you are an international violin or viola student thinking about studying in the United States, you do not need to figure everything out alone. You can start by introducing yourself, sending a short performance video, and asking questions about the studio, auditions, and life at Marshall.

Students from Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, China, Colombia, Eastern Europe, the Philippines, and other international regions are welcome to begin the conversation early.
